The Fox IT method

One path.
Evidence at every gate.

Executive fluency is A0. The four A stages then carry an opportunity from Assessment through Alignment and Activation to Amplification. Clients can enter where their evidence and capability allow.

The 4A framework

One path. Five stages. A product behind everyone.

Clients enter at the stage that fits their maturity. Most enter at Assessment — the cheapest place to start, the fastest to prove, and the only stage that tells you whether the next one is worth funding.

A4

Amplification

Scaled implementation, with realised value tracked against the original case.

⚡AI + HUMAN

Assurance · AI Governance and ISO/IEC 42001 Readiness

Runs across every stage — registers, audit trail and certification evidence built as the work happens, never retrofitted. Sold on its own as a distinct offering. Explore governance and assurance →

Every stage has a product behind it. That is what makes this a roadmap rather than a maturity model.
Why the method exists

The next stage has to earn its funding.

AI programmes often move from an idea to a pilot without a clear account of why that idea was chosen. The 4A path introduces a decision at each transition. Assessment asks what is true. Alignment asks which opportunities deserve action. Activation asks whether the solution works for users. Amplification asks whether it keeps returning value.

A0 Awareness gives leaders the language to sponsor the work well. It sits before the four core stages rather than replacing one of them. The organisation can start later in the path when it already has credible evidence, but it should still be able to explain the decisions behind that evidence.

What each gate must prove

A visible answer before the next investment.

A0 → A1

A shared question

Leaders agree what business change they seek and who will sponsor it. Executive fluency helps them separate AI capabilities from assumptions before discovery begins.

A1 → A2

A defensible portfolio

Ascent examines organisational context and returns opportunities with value, feasibility and evidence visible. Weak ideas can stop without consuming a delivery budget.

A2 → A3

A funded priority

Business, finance and technology owners select the use cases worth testing. Each receives a pod, a named owner and a measure that the first sprint can examine.

A3 → A4

A useful workflow

Real users test a working AI slice. The team sees where value appears, where trust breaks and what production work remains before committing to scale.

A4 → NEXT

Observed value

The business owner reviews use and outcomes against the original case. Successful patterns can expand; underperforming work is repaired or retired with the reason recorded.

Where to enter

Start from the evidence you already have.

YOU HAVE AN AMBITION

Start with A0 or A1.

When leaders still need a shared view, use executive fluency. When the question is which use cases matter, Assessment can establish the shortlist and the evidence behind it.

YOU HAVE A SHORTLIST

Test Alignment.

A list of ideas becomes a portfolio only when owners can defend the value, cost and feasibility of each priority. The workshop makes those trade-offs explicit.

YOU HAVE A WORKING PILOT

Examine Activation or A4.

Check adoption with real users and the production controls around the system. Then track realised value against the case that funded the work.

Assurance across the path

Governance travels with the work.

Discovery records assumptions and owners. Alignment decides the risk and funding gates. Activation tests human review, data handling and monitoring. Amplification maintains a register and evidence of how systems perform and change. This makes assurance part of delivery rather than a document assembled at the end.
